HAVØRN
Gallery & Studio

HAVØRN began life as a joint venture in 2015, then named 'Ceard'. In 2020 Sara Garnett became the sole proprietor.
In 2024 the gallery moved to new premises and found a new name - HAVØRN meaning Sea Eagle in Norwegian - in homage to Ullapool’s Viking roots and the beautiful Loch Broom Sea Eagles.
We showcase a personally sourced  - and carefully edited - selection of art and handcraft - with a focus on Scottish makers. Our offer also includes an ever changing display of vintage and antique jewellery, prints and paintings.
Sara studied painting at Norwich School of Art and Lancaster University. A career in the arts followed, including extraordinary years with Tate Britain & Bloomsbury Auctions. Sara has lived close to Ullapool for over twenty years. Home is a tiny 'off grid' tin clad croft house overlooking Loch Broom. She shares the croft with dogs, chickens and a magical husband - Pete.
Sara's art is, unsurprisingly, inspired by the wild landscape, flora and fauna of Wester Ross. Gaelic fairy-tales & local legends also help to populate her creativity.
